This Privacy Policy explains how the HowMuch mobile application (“App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the App. HowMuch is a daily utility calculator for weight-price, GST, discount, EMI, fuel cost, profit margin, and bill splitting.
1. Information We Collect
HowMuch does not collect, store, or sell personal information such as:
- Name, email address, phone number, or postal address
- Account credentials or payment card details
- Contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or location data
- Advertising identifiers for tracking across other apps
Values you enter into calculators (for example, prices, weights, GST rates, or loan amounts) are processed locally on your device to show results. These inputs are not uploaded to our servers for storage or profiling.
2. How the App Uses Information
Any numbers you type are used only to:
- Perform the calculation you requested
- Display results on your screen
We do not use calculator inputs to build user profiles, target advertising, or share data with third parties for marketing.
3. Internet Access & Optional Content
HowMuch can work for calculations without an internet connection. If your device is
online, the App may attempt to load an optional promotional image from a remote URL
(currently hosted at nambor.com) on the home screen.
- If the image loads successfully, it may be shown briefly in the App UI.
- If there is no internet or the image fails to load, nothing is shown and no extra space is reserved.
Loading that image may involve a standard network request. The remote host may receive technical request data typical of any web request (such as IP address, device/user-agent, and request time). We do not control the privacy practices of third-party hosting providers.
4. Permissions
HowMuch does not require sensitive permissions (such as contacts, camera, microphone, or precise location) to provide its core calculator features. If a future version requests additional permissions, we will update this Policy and explain why they are needed.
5. Data Storage & Retention
Calculator inputs and results are handled in the App’s temporary memory while you use a screen. We do not operate a HowMuch user account database for this App.
If a future update adds optional local history, preferences, or cloud features, this Policy will be updated before those features collect additional data.
6. Children’s Privacy
HowMuch is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
7. Third-Party Services
The App may rely on platform services provided by Google (for Android / Google Play) and Apple (for iOS / App Store). Those platforms may collect device and usage analytics according to their own policies. We do not operate separate third-party analytics SDKs in the current version of HowMuch for advertising tracking.
8. Data Security
Because calculator activity remains on your device, the practical security of your information depends largely on your device’s lock screen, OS updates, and app permissions. We take reasonable steps in App design to avoid unnecessary data collection.
9. Your Choices
- You can stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.
- You can use airplane mode / disable network access if you prefer not to load optional online images.
- You can clear the App’s storage from your device settings if you wish to remove any local App data.
10. International Users
HowMuch may be used in different countries. Any processing that occurs on your device stays under your control. If optional online content is loaded, that request may be processed on servers in other locations operated by the content host.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you acknowledge the revised Policy.
